In the past, Alejandro Baillères Gual has showed interest in Liga MX and soccer in general, as he has invested in Liga MX as one of their sponsors, but now is considering acquiring a club, as he knows it’s a profitable business.
Baillères Gual is interested in acquiring Club América, one of the biggest and most renowned clubs from Mexico, a team in which he has previously been part of, given that he owns GNP, an insurance company, that has sponsored Las Águilas in the past.
Although Emilio Azcárraga hasn’t talked about selling the team that has belonged to his family since his father acquired it in 1959, according to Forbes, Club América market value currently stands in $200 million.
