Bruno Valdez wants to leave Club América after the bad results of Santiago Solari
Las Águila have won just one game in Clausura 2022.
Although Club América managed to save a point from their visit to Estadio Universitario on Saturday night, and finally had a clean sheet after seven rounds of Clausura 2022, the truth is that they still have a long way until they can say they’re out of the crisis.
More Club América news:
With the point earned against Pumas, Las Águilas managed to stay out of the bottom of the table, given the goal difference with Santos Laguna, and Santiago Solari bought himself a week more as América coach, although they’ll have to earn points against Querétaro and Monterrey if he wants to stay for the rest of the season.
One of the players that is against his permanence in Las Águilas bench is Diego Valdez, as he has lost all the trust he had in the Argentine coach and is considering leaving América once Clausura 2022 is over, as he doesn’t think América will succeed under his wing.
It’s yet to be seen what happens in Las Águilas’ dugout, as its yet to be seen who is the coach that replaces the Argentine and if Valdez changes his mind once Solari is gone, but for now, the Paraguayan defender feels like his future is somewhere else out of El Nido.
Where can Diego Valdez arrive?
Although he still has one more year of contract, Club América could be willing to let him go on a permanent move if any interested teams are willing to pay his current market value, which is set at $5.5 million.
Cruz Azul is one of the teams that might be interested in him, as they’re going to need a replacement for Pablo Aguilar, given that he’ll leave La Máquina once Clausura 2022 is over. Tigres could also be on the mix to acquire the 29-year-old defender, given Miguel Herrera’s familiarity with him, as he coached him during his stint in Las Águilas.
Diego Valdez’s numbers with Club América
The Paraguay international arrived in Club América in 2016 out of Paraguayan side Cerro Porteño for a transfer fee of $3.5 million. Since then, Valdez has played for 206 games over six seasons, in which he has scored 26 goals and assisted on seven occasions.
