Since Amaury Vergara became owner of Chivas, things haven’t worked for the Guadalajara team, as they usually miss the Liguilla spots given the disappointing performances they have, like last season, where they were eliminated by Club Puebla in Repechaje.

Chivas has a new striker, but it’s not José Juan Macías

Not only that, but Vergara decided to place one of his friends as Chivas coach, Marcelo Michel Leaño, who barely knows what he’s doing with the players he has, instead of hiring a coach that has proven experience and a real project.

Chivas is far from the Liga MX club that won League, Cup and even international tournaments, but now, Vergara decided that it was not enough and now betrayed one of Chivas’ ideals by registering a player born outside Mexico as part of the roster.

Who did he sign as the new Chivas player?

According to Liga MX webpage, Chivas registered 18-year-old forward Marck Anthony Cruz Benito, who was born in California to a Mexican household. Given that he holds both Mexican and American nationalities, he still is considered a Mexican player by Liga MX standards. Cruz will be part of Tapatío for Clausura 2022.
