Carlos Vela finally spoke about what the future holds for him, as rumors pointed towards his return to Mexico National Team and Liga MX, but during an interview with ESPN, he closed the door to El Tri, officializing his retirement from the Aztecs MNT.
The reason that made Carlos Vela decide to retire from El Tri is worth $2 million
But he also talked about what he’ll do next, as his contract with Los Angeles FC is ending over the summer and at least five Liga MX clubs are after his addition for Apertura 2022. Vela said that he knows he still has two or three years playing at a high level, like he’s doing right now.
That’s why he decided to arrive in Liga MX in three years, when his career is getting closer to an end and he can enjoy more of his family, especially after leaving Mexico at a young age. Although teams like Club América, Monterrey or Tigres are pursuing the right-winger, he might decide play for Chivas.
Although Vela’s departure from Chivas wasn’t on the best terms, “El Bombardero” never had the chance to play wearing El Rebaño colors, which is why he could land on Chivas, even with the salary that he currently has, as they could ask Chivas’ sponsors to pay most of his salary, same thing they did when Oribe Peralta joined them.
Will Amaury Vergara finally sell Chivas to someone that knows how to run a team?
