Last year was very special all over the world. Not only because of the coronavirus pandemic that is still present and is slowly beginning to be controlled with the application of vaccines. But also because in the United States the elections took place in which Joe Biden ended up prevailing over Donald Trump. Precisely this event created a rift among the athletes: on the one hand there were those who actively participated in the various campaigns and on the other, those who preferred not to express their opinion to take care of their image in society.

In that sense, LeBron James, star of the Los Angeles Lakers, was always sympathetic to Biden and on more than one occasion he criticized Trump, especially for his lack of empathy with the people who needed him most. The opposite pole was Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who already in Milan after his passage through the Los Angeles Galaxy, preferred to stay out of the elections. And in the last hours, the Swede criticized LeBron harshly for such action.

Speaking with Discovery, Zlatan spoke of how LeBron handles his political views: "He's phenomenal at what he does, but I don't like people with some kind of status getting into politics at the same time. I mean, do what you are good at, dedicate yourself to what you do”.

“I play soccer because I am the best playing soccer. I don't like politics, if I had been a politician I would have gotten into politics. It is the first mistake people make when they become famous and reach a certain status", said the Swede, who highlighted LeBron's views as a common "mistake".
