Xavi Hernandez began work fully as Barcelona manager on Tuesday and the first point of action was to have a meeting with his players who were yet to travel for the international break during which he laid down a set of rules and brought back fines.

Xavi's former teammate of six years at Barcelona and current vice-captain Gerard Pique is the first to be affected by the rules as he is now forced to cancel an interview with El Hormiguero he scheduled for next week in fulfilment of one of the rules.

"You don't have to be tough. It is a matter of order and rules as in all companies. When I've had rules, I've gone well. And when not, we have gone wrong. You have to put them in and comply with them. There is no more. It's not discipline, it's order." Xavi said during his first press conference.

Pique being a senior member of the squad and getting affected by a rule barely days into Xavi's managerial reign is not good for the unity of the squad, he's such an influence that could lead to revolt and have disruptive influence on the squad which is one of the easiest ways a manager gets sacked.
