The group stage of the UEFA Playoffs culminated this week and the top 10 leaders from each zone qualified directly for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Several of the historic teams and a few surprises buckled their presence at next year's event.
The guards of the ten groups will have a new opportunity in the playoffs to be played in March with the draw to be defined. In addition to them, Austria and the Czech Republic will join, who failed to be second, but earned their place in the Nations League ranking.
- Jorginho: The Chelsea midfielder, champion of the Champions League, and champion of the Eurocup with Azurra wants to be key to not leaving Italy out of the World Cup for the second year in a row.
- Gareth Bale: The Real Madrid striker gave up time and recovery at the Merengue to become the flag of Wales and wants to seal that commitment with qualifying for the World Cup.
- Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Sweden lost the chance in a heads up against Spain and in March they will try to give a final World Cup to Ibrahimovic, who is now 40 years old.
- Robert Lewandowski: Poland failed to keep up with England in their group, but the absence of one of the world's best scorers would come as a surprise if it materializes ahead of Qatar 2022.
- Cristiano Ronaldo: At 36 years old and looking for what could be their last World Cup, the classification of CR7 and Portugal was frustrated in the last minute against Serbia. They await March with a thirst for revenge.
