Lionel Messi is one of the richest athletes on earth. He has a net worth of about $400m and he has earned more than £1bn from football throughout his career. Messi recently moved from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal with the option to extend for a further year. Before he completed his move to PSG, there were rumours the 6-time Ballon d'Or winner could join David Beckham's new MLS side, Inter Miami.

One of the major facts that spurred this rumour is the fact that Lionel Messi owns a swanky holiday apartment in Miami. The apartment is big enough to accommodate his family including his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo and his children; Thiago Messi, Mateo Messi and Ciro Messi. Despite having never played in Miami, many fans think the Argentine international is keeping the apartment because he sees a future where he could play in the MLS for David Beckham's Inter Miami.
