The United States National Team is preparing to play a friendly against Switzerland on Sunday, May 30 in the city of St. Gallen, as a preparatory game prior to the Final Four of the Concacaf Nations League. However, Chelsea star Christian Pulisic isn't on the roster.
Coach Gregg Berhalter, who will not have Zack Steffen either, confirmed who will be the 27 players who will play the preparatory duel for the Concacaf competition. Despite the two important absences that attracted attention, the truth is that they will not be there because on that date they will play the UEFA Champions League final with Chelsea and Manchester City, respectively.
What was surprising, and there is no concrete explanation, is that the coach dispensed with striker Matthew Hoppe, who works for Schalke 04, and who has just scored six goals in the last season of the German Bundesliga.
Those who will not be present are Chris Richards, who suffers from a hamstring problem, and Aaron Long, who has a ruptured Achilles tendon. In turn, despite being called up, the presence of midfielder Tyler Adams, who suffers from back pain, is in doubt.
