Why is Antoine Griezmann useful for France but not for FC Barcelona?

During the international break of October, Antoine Griezmann proved once again all his talent and showed he is a key player for France. The attacker played to games for his national team and in the second one scored a winner for his team to defeat Croatia on the UEFA Nations League.

With his goal, Griezmann has now scored 33 for France, the fifth all-time top scorer of the national team. He left behind Zinedine Zidane (31) and is chasing David Trezeguet (34). But, after all, his great capacity hasn't yet been showed at FC Barcelona.

Barça signed Griezmann on July 2019 from Atlético de Madrid for more than $120 million. Since his arrival, the attacker scored just 15 goals in 51 appearances. At first, he was subbed by Ernesto Valverde or Quique Setién after bad performances but now he plays from the start sharing the attack with Lionel Messi and Ansu Fati.

Griezmann said after France victory that his level was due to the capacity of head coach Didier Deschamps, who knew where to place him. Maybe it was a message to Koeman, after playing the major part of the last season as a winger, when he clearly prefers to do it as an offensive midfielder of center attacker.
