Why does Arsenal want to get rid of Mesut Ozil right now?

Mesut Özil arrived from Real Madrid in 2013 as a star, with less than 25 yeas and with the ambitious of wining an important tittle for Arsenal. All of these dreams disappeared with the years and the midfielder hasn’t been able to get a starting position in the team for several seasons.

The Premier League season started after the pandemic in June and Özil has not played even a minute in Arteta’s team. The coach even puts an alternative team for the Cup and the German was not in it, he said that the squad was working very well with youth players so he did not see that sending Özil on the pitch was necessary.

The last appearance for Özil on the club was not scoring goals o making assist, lately he has offered to pay the salary of Gunnersaurus, the club mascot, who was fired after all the matches that were played without fans. Unfortunately, this was not seen really nice by the Arsenal’s directive team.

Özil has played 162 matches for Arsenal, scored 32 goals and made 53 assists, becoming one of the most solid players of the last years. He won 8 titles with the clubs, but according to the fans he is not getting the attention that he deserves.
