It was an emotional moment for 11 year old Irish girl Addison Whelan after he invaded the pitch and got Cristiano Ronaldo's jersey after the match between Republic of Ireland and Portugal which ended in a 0-0 draw and put Portugal's World Cup qualification on a hanger.

The Irish girl ran into the pitch and towards Ronald who told the security to leave her and handed his match shirt to her. The young girl then revealed on Irish radio she has been fined £2,500 for invading the pitch but her father will pay.

The Irish FA responded through their spokesman that the young lady won't have to pay the fine. "We want to reassure Addison that of course she will not face any fine for running onto the pitch and asking for Ronaldo's jersey."

The reason for the cancellation of the fine was not revealed. However we believe it is due to the fact it was because she is a minor and could not be punished with such punishments under the law. Whatever the reason is, she got lucky, got Ronaldo's jersey and escaped sanctions.
