Cristiano Ronaldo was the protagonist despite starting as a substitute in the Udinese - Juventus match. The VAR took the victory out of Juventus' hands. His header after Chiesa's cross would have made it 2-3, but Ronaldo was offside. The goal was disallowed and the match ended 2-2 in the Serie A opener.

Juventus' line-up did not include the Portuguese. A surprise that triggered rumors in Italy about his future after a week in which Ronaldo ruled out a possible return to Real Madrid or a possible arrival at Paris Saint Germain.

Pavel Nedved about the future of Cristiano Ronaldo

Pavel Nedved, Juventus vice-president, had to speak to the media: "We have decided together with Ronaldo. It is normal. He will stay at 100%," said the vice-president and former player. The same as Max Allegri had pointed out in the preview: "Cristiano has told me that he is staying. He had no desire to leave Juventus".

The storm cleared and soccer gave the 'Vecchia Signora' a complicated afternoon. With Cristiano on the bench and Dybala and Cuadrado in stellar form, Juventus took a 0-2 lead. The Argentine playmaker, who wore the captain's armband, scored from outside the box in the 3rd minute to make it 0-1. Cuadrado made it 0-2 in the 23rd minute after 'breaking' his teammate and firing past Silvestri.

Juve, however, got stuck and Udinese managed to get a draw (2-2) of merit. Szczesny was the protagonist of both home goals with his mistakes. In the 1-2, he took a penalty that Pereyra did not miss. And in Deulofeu's equalizer, he dribbled around the Spaniard and Okaka swiped the ball from him. Earlier, Morata hit the post.

Cristiano Ronaldo came on in the 60th minute and headed in the 94th minute to make it 2-3 in Max Allegri's debut for Turin. A saving goal... that was not such. The VAR reviewed the play and it was disallowed for a close offside. His celebration, taking off his shirt, came to nothing. Crazy! Juve went into the break with a two-goal lead and their disconnection left them without a win.
