Legendary Premier League striker, Andy Carroll has said that his kids are expecting him to sign for either Manchester City or Barcelona. The 32-year-old striker is without a club after his contract with Newcastle United was not renewed for another term. Carroll says that though he's ready to travel anywhere to play football, he'd prefer to stay close to home because of his family.

According to Andy Carroll, after sitting out the final game of the season with his boyhood club, Newcastle United, he has not had any contact with the club management. Carroll was on the bench for the 2-0 victory over Fulham, same as he was on the bench for the majority of Newcastle United's games last season. The striker revealed that he was told by club management that they'd discuss his future at the club during the off-season, but he never heard back. He would go to clear out his locker soon as his personal effects are still at the Tyneside club.

Though, in the eyes of his 5 young children, Andy Carroll should be joining either Manchester City or FC Barcelona soon. The former England international revealed that though moving to either club seems impossible, he's open to anything. The 32-year-old striker says he's been getting calls from all over Europe and he'd be happy to travel but he would prefer to not disrupt his kids' education who are based in Essex.

Though it might seem a long dream a move to Manchester City or FC Barcelona is not an impossibility for the lanky striker. Manchester City failed in the pursuit of Harry Kane during the summer transfer window and have so far not brought in anyone to replace the departed Sergio Aguero. Thus, Andy Carroll could be an interesting option for Pep Guardiola and the same for Barcelona's Ronald Koeman. The free-agent status of Andy Carroll makes him a possibility for the cash-strapped Catalan club who also need a striker to bolster their options of Martin Braithwaite and the injured Sergio Aguero.
