Joan Roman is not well known in the world of soccer, but several years ago he had hoped to share the pitch with Lionel Messi but that hope was eventually frustrated. Now Roman made headlines not because he decided to change his name to Goku and not for scoring a great goal or making an action on a soccer field

Goku started his soccer career in FC Barcelona and he played with Messi in some trainings. The 27-year-old player who currently plays in the Polish soccer team Miedz Legnic decided to change his name to Goku as this new name allows him to choose his own destiny according to him. Goku was chosen by the mythical character of Dragon Ball Z and for him represents all the values that he wants for his new life.

Goku Roman said he was grateful to Joan for all the time that he accompanied him and everything he taught him but that it was time to give way to Goku. The respect he received from his teammates and everyone says Goku that he was very important in this new change of life. Now in more on his shirt will not appear more Joan but Goku.

More and more people are changing their names but it is the first time that a Spanish footballer has changed his name for one of an animated character. We only have to wait to see if the name change gives Roman the powers that Goku has in Dragon Ball Z and he becomes the hero of his team in Poland.
