Cristiano Ronaldo has built a career out of consistently staying at the top and defying the odds when it's surely against him and if the reports from English tabloid, The Sun are true he wants to participate in the 2026 FIFA World.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be played in three countries, USA, Canada and Mexico and by that time Cristiano Ronaldo will be 41 years old and his appearance will not be a record as the record is owned by Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary who was 45 years and 10 days at the 2018 World Cup.

Many in the football world expect Cristiano Ronaldo to retire from international football after the next year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar which he would participate in at the age of 37 years and 10 months which would be his fifth World Cup, a record equalling number.

Ronaldo has not commented on the rumour and most likely he won't. In past interviews he has not given a specific time he will retire. He had only previously talked about his son wanting him to continue playing till he makes his professional debut so they can play together.
