Iker Casillas, Roberto Carlos, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Makelele, Luis Figo, Raúl González, Robinho, Michael Owen, Arjen Robben, Ronaldo. It seems to be a lie, that these names formed a single team. And if that seems to be a lie, it is impossible to understand how it is that they did not achieve their goals, nor did they manage to be champions for several years. However, they left their mark on soccer history, and became world legends. Today, only one remains in force, however, all are still linked to football from different sides.

Michael Owen, the emblem of the England national football team, today serves as a sports analyst and commentator for BT Sports. Known as the Golden Boy, for having won the Ballon d'Or in 2001, a trophy that decorated him as the best player in the world, it seemed that he would become the master of football when he joined the ranks of the merengue team. However, a series of repeated injuries forced him to say goodbye to the fields early, and today at 41, he has already been commenting on and analyzing football from the stands for 8 years.

Of that litter of players, the player who emerged in the Liverpool quarry was the one with the worst fortune, and beyond the passion generated by commenting on football, today he has a job that is not out of the ordinary, and is very far from competing with some of his teammates who ran with better luck. The only one who followed in his footsteps was Roberto Carlos, who works as a commentator and analyst for Real Madrid TV.

Iker Casillas, for example, recently retired, is preparing his application to be President of the Spanish Football Federation. David Beckham, meanwhile, has his own club in MLS, Inter Miami. Raúl González, is the coach of Real Madrid de Castilla, a subsidiary of the first team that is under the orders of Zinedine Zidane. Ronaldo Nazario, currently presides over Valladolid of the Spanish first division, and Robinho is taking his last steps as a professional in Brazilian football.

ESPN premieres the serie of Los Galacticos

It is a mini series of three chapters, of 30 minutes each, that promises to reveal the untold story of this Real Madrid litter. It focuses on the rise of an unknown Florentino Perez, who became known thanks to the signing of Luis Figo and change the image of the merengue team forever. Under his presidency, the team from the Spanish capital shone and won titles but was also surrounded by controversy, excesses and decisions that also ended an era.
