Today there are several American players playing in European football like never before. The MLS continues to open the way for future generations of footballers and Chris Richards is undoubtedly one of the footballers who will influenced the future kids. Richards left the Dallas academy to join Bayern Munich some years before.

Aged 20, the footballer has already made his debut with the first team and is shaping up to be a major player in the German team. Richards made it clear that he hopes to be an example so that future generations can make their way to soccer in Europe, using the MLS academies as a boost.

Richards is aware of the effect they are having on the guys from the MLS academies who want to make the leap to Europe. He added that players emerged from MLS academies are as good as players emerged from European academies, and also added that Americans or Canadians would do great to try to sign for teams that have already beat on former MLS players.

The player of the USMNT believes that Major League Soccer can become a big league that exports footballers and makes them grow as professionals, thus attracting the eyes of great clubs around the world. He also added that there is a great possibility that one day in the future the MLS become respected league and with enough money to compete with Europe.

About what he learned in MLS, he said that the league gave him a professional mindset. FC Dallas was his first experience with a professional club. Richards confessed that academy formed his professional mentality and helped him to reach the first team just ready to behave like a professional player.
