When Weston McKennie was a boy from Texas who dreamed of succeeding in soccer, Cristiano Ronaldo had already won his first Ballon d'Or as a Manchester United player. Several years later, the midfielder is sharing a team at Juventus with the Portuguese star and forged a relationship even off the pitch. 

In an interview with ESPN FC, the powerful North American midfielder recalled how his first meeting with Ronaldo was. And, in addition, he revealed that CR7 nicknamed him Texas Boy after learning that he's originally from that state. In short, the person born in 1998 said that his experience with Cris, because of what he contributes as a player and person within the Bianconero club, is being very gratifying. A true dream come true.

"I still remember the first time I met him. I was walking down the hall and he was coming from the physio room. I was like 'behave cool, behave cool' (laughs)", the young man began recounting at the time of his debut. In 2017, Cristiano was left with his fifth statuette as the best player.

And he sentenced: "Cristiano's a genuine boy, he's someone frontal. He wants to win. He has a great mentality. We joke. He tells me 'Texas Boy' (Texas boy), and everything. A player of his caliber, with so many achievements that he has achieved in his career, he could be enlarged, but he's very open and warm, and he treats all players well regardless of age".
