FC Barcelona made a disastrous deal by releasing Luis Suárez, which made Lionel Messi furious, and bringing Martin Braithwaite to replace the Uruguayan star. The Danish national team striker only managed to score two goals in 18 games for the Spanish La Liga, and three in four games for the UEFA Champions League.

Since the Champions League statistics are respectable but it’s not the same for La Liga, it seems Barcelona is not happy and might need to sign another player for that role. Towards the summer transfer market, which could be overshadowed by Messi’s alleged departure, the club is already looking for options. And one of the main targets is a rising star from Concacaf.

After a very successful debut in Belgium’s Jupiler League side Genk, Canada’s Jonathan David has arrived to Ligue 1 side Lille OSC. His remarkable record of 23 goals in 40 games proved him to be a good signing for French league. In his first season he registers five goals and four assists after having played 29 games.

In recent words reported by transfer website Fichajes, he has stated he is a long time fan both of FC Barcelona and Arsenal FC. His market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €30 million, or better said, $36.3 million. It was also reported that apart from Barcelona, he is closely followed by German giants Bayern Munich.
