Ángel Di María and Marquinhos have experienced a drama these days. On Sunday, while they were playing the match between Paris Saint Germain against Nantes, the house of the Argentina and that of the central's parents were attacked by thieves. Fortunately, there was only material loss to regret, although the families of the footballers were there.
Choupo-Moting, Thiago Silva, Sergio Rico and Mauro Icardi have also suffered similar incidents in recent years, but this casuistry goes beyond the Parisian team and is something that has been repeated over the years. Florent Balmont, a retired former midfielder in the midst of the pandemic, when he was a Lille player in 2008 experienced an assault of this type in his flesh, although in his case he did come face to face with looters, as he recalled in an interview granted to Le Parisien.
"That night I was sleeping at home. I was playing the next day. It was five in the morning", he contextualizes. "Three people opened the door and told me that they had come to get my car keys, which was in the front. They threw my wife on the ground. They put a gun to my head for about 10 minutes. My daughter had four years. He did not leave the bedroom upstairs, but he saw everything", he added to resume one of the worst days in his life.
Such a drama is life-changing, as Balmont acknowledges: "The club had posted agents from eight in the afternoon to six in the morning. During this period, we spent all our nights in the same room, my wife, my daughter from 4 years old and the youngest, who at that time was 11 months old", concluded Balmont that has wanted to shed light on a too common drama in the lives of footballers.
