Thierry Henry is one of the most famous French attackers ever. The professional career of the legend started on Versailles and then had him playing in some of the best European clubs, as FC Barcelona, Juventus or Arsenal. Many think that, due to his conditions and capacity, he was the best representative of his country to ever play soccer.

But after so many years a new French forward appear and seems to challenge the records from Henry. He is Karim Benzeman, the attacker from Real Madrid who marks history for his nation playing for one of the most important teams in the world. He arrived there on 2009, after leaving Olympique Lyon, and never left.

Real Madrid played this Sunday against Eibar for LaLiga winning 3-1 with a goal scored by Benzema. With his goal, the no. 9 is now the French player with more goals in the top five European leagues. He scored 176 to gain the record, while Henry, who was until now the one who had scored the most, had 175.

Surprisingly, Henry made no post on social media to congratulate his compatriot for overcoming his record and many said that it was due to his sadness for losing the all-time mark. Benzema scored those goals all for Real Madrid, as those for Lyon don’t count for this mark, while Henry did it for Juventus, Arsenal and Barça.
