Edinson Cavani was one of the most wanted players during the transfer window. The Uruguayan striker aged 33 was a free agent since leaving PSG and finally decided to sign a contract with Manchester United. Despite many fans criticized that he may not be in form, legend Ryan Giggs backed him up.

Giggs assured that Cavani is a top quality player, that may be a bit rusty during his very first games as he has spent a lot of time without playing, but that he is a centre forward that can give Ole Gunnar Solskjær something very different to the players that the team already has, as Antonhy Martial, Marcus Rashford or even Bruno Fernandes.

Cavani had to self-isolated himself after arriving to Manchester to do his quarantine period, according to the COVID-19 pandemic protocol. After the fourteen days spent, he was free but head coach Solskjær decided not to use him on the game against PSG in their Champions League debut in which Red Devils won 2-1.

Now, it is awaited that Cavani finally shows himself for the very first time when Manchester faces Chelsea next Saturday at Old Trafford, on Premier League Week 6. After four games played, his team stands 15th with six points earned and really need the help that a player as Cavani can provide.
