They called him the new Messi, Zidane bet all-in for him and now he would be cut off from Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane has had his worst time at Real Madrid recently, after the club suffered some very bad results that make rumors about his departure exploited. Finally, Florentino Pérez decided to wait and gave the French idol the last chance to stay. The team qualified to the Champions League round of 16 and Zizou will continue at the Galacticos for now.

During the past season, Zidane has been betting for some unusual players and one of those was the playmaker called the new Lionel Messi: Martin Odegaard. With 22 years old, the Norwegian played eight games so far this season, scoring no goals and giving no assists.

Odegaard arrived to Real Madrid as a youth, when he was a promise and many expected him to have the skills of a top player. They bought him for $3 million on January 2015 from Stromsgodset and, since then, gave him on loan to Heerenveen, Vitesse and Real Sociedad during this first five years.

The patience of Zidane with Odegaard seems to be over, as Spanish press reports and the player is very near to be axed from the club. His contract ends on June 2023 and with just five goals and eight assists given on 62 games played for the LaLiga side, it is said that Zizou lost his patience and will ask for his departure.
