He was born in Mexico, raised in Argentina, and lives in Spain. When he was very young, he was compared to Lionel Messi, which's why the national teams of the three countries fought to defend his colors. Last season he became the record player in La Liga, being the youngest to debut. But his present isn't the best to the point that he is "hanging" in his club.

Mallorca coach Luis García admitted that he doesn't have the jewel of the club's quarry, the Argentine Luka Romero, because he didn't sign the renewal of his contract with the club.

Romero became the youngest player to debut in La Liga history last season, playing against Real Madrid on June 24, 2020, at 15 years and 219 days. Almost a year later, his presence was scarce in the team that participated this year in the Second Division and he was in the subsidiary, which plays in Third, the fourth category of Spanish football.

Luis García admitted this Saturday that the fundamental cause is that he has not yet signed his renewal with the Balearic club. "He hasn't renewed even though the club has made him a very, very good offer," said the coach at the press conference prior to the match against Zaragoza, with which the team will celebrate their promotion to the First Division.

"He's a player that I will not have, but when he is mine I bet on him one hundred percent. He has a tremendous quality, a lot of future, he is a heaven in training, but I cannot give minutes to a player who has not renewed with us ", remarked Luis García.
