After Brenden Aaronson signs with Red Bull Salzburg, the MLS is now waiting to see what happen with Colorado Rapids' standout Cole Bassett, who seem to have many teams interested in taking him to Europe. The Littleton native is 19 years old and has been at Rapids since 2016.
Bassett is well-known for having trainings at England giants Arsenal, but they didn't keep their interest. Bassett also had trains at SC Freiburg and TSG Hoffenheim, a team that has great information about the MLS as they have an agreement with FC Cincinnati. Freiburg, by it side, wants to sing the player.
The German team has handed many offers to Colorado Rapids, which have been refused because, Colorado Rapids General Manager Padraig Smith said, they didn't match the value Bassett has, according to them. In this sense, it will now be harder for Rapids to keep their player.
This happens because the new teams interested in the player are Swiss FC Lausanne and Austrian Rapid Vienna. Vienna is a club characterized for signing young talents that later are transferred to other European teams. In this sense, it's probable that Rapid sets a big offer for Cola Bassett, as they now that later they will get money out or the midfielder.
