Mario Balotelli hasn’t been playing since he left Brescia on July 2020, in a year in which he couldn’t play many games after the COVID-19 pandemic. With such inactivity, many expected that the Italian forward was near retirement, but at the age of 30, there are more chances for him returning.

After five months without playing, it is now rumored that Balotelli will join Monza, the Italian team that plays in the second division of that country. The connection that he has with that side is the good relationship that the player has with Silvio Berlusconi, owner of the club.

It is not yet confirmed that Balotelli will join, but rumors point out that there are several chances of that happening. As it is not a top European side and it doesn’t even play in the first division, it is expected than the attacker will be having one of the lowest salaries of his career.

Balotelli started as a pro player at Lumezzane and then played for Inter, Manchester City, AC Milan, Liverpool, Niza, Olympique Marseille and finally Brescia. This could be his eight club in his career, that he could join for free. Monza stands eight in the second division of Serie B.
