Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez are great friends since a long time ago. The Uruguayan striker arrived to FC Barcelona in 2014, and, since then, the connection with the Argentinian legend was total. They played six years together, until Suárez was axed by ex-president Josep María Bartomeu with the approval of Ronald Koeman.

Luis Suárez played 283 matches for Barça, scoring 195 goals and giving 113 assists, but the Catalan club considered that it wasn't enough and let him out for free. The forward joined Atlético Madrid and has been one of the best players from LaLiga since then. Diego Simeone was very pleased to have him and make him perform in an incredible way.

After 20 games played with his new team, Luis Suárez has scored 14 goals and is now the top-scorer of the local league. His team stands in the first position with 50 points gained after 19 matches played. Barcelona occupies the second position, 10 points away, and Real Madrid the third one, with the same number of points.

But the dispute between Suárez and Messi has now increased. As Suárez is the top-scorer of LaLiga with 14 goals scored, Messi is the second one, with 12 goals. The fight for the Pichichi, as the player that ends the season with more goals is named in Spain, has now as protagonists two old friends.
