Olivier Giroud's name was linked to MLS several times and the player has always manifested his interest in making a move to the U.S. league sometime. Actually, the French international striker is at Chelsea, where coach Frank Lampard doesn't consider him in the starting XI. In the start of the season of the Premier League he only played '17 minutes, entering from the bench against West Bromwich in Week 3.

Recently, when asked about when he would imagine his arrival to the MLS, Giroud answered that he spectates that to happen after two or three years more in the top leagues of Europe. When consulted about the rumors of a few weeks ago he assured that it was too early in his career to make the move.

Giroud is now with the France international team, called by world champion coach Didier Deschamps to face a friendly against Ukraine and two games corresponding the UEFA Nations League, against Portugal (October 11) and Croatia (October 14).

After the international break, the attacker aged 34 will head back to Chelsea, where the arrivals of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz have clearly left him apart. It will be time for him to fight for a place in Lampard's team, that will play back when they face Southampton (October 17) in the Premier League and Sevilla (October 20) in the start of the Champions League season.
