The team that will bring Petrc Cech out of retirement at 38 in a surprising move
Even though he retired at 2019, the goalkeeper has been included in the Premier League 25-man squad by a team.
Petrc Cech will come back in an incredible déjà vu. The goalkeeper has been included in the 25-man squad by Chelsea, the club for which he played for 11 years and the one in which he was working as a sporting adviser. At the age of 38, Frank Lampard decided to include him in the list.
The reason is linked to the absence that the London club may suffer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to not suffer for not having a goalkeeper, Chelsea included retired Cech in the list. His last time in a professional field was on 2019, when he decided to end his career.
Since then, he has been an ice-hockey keeper and afterwards came back to Stamford Bridge offices to work as an adviser. English press report that the move has to do with Lamrpard's lack of trust to Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. The club has signed Edouard Mendy from Rennes and also counts on Willy Caballero.
Chelsea started with a tie their way on the Champions League. So far in the Premier League they have earned eight points out of five games played and stand in the 8th position. Even though he is hopefully not going to be needed, Cech is there in case Chelsea needs a goalkeeper for PL games this season.
