Manchester City announced this Thursday that Pep Guardiola signed his new contract as a head coach until 2023. The manager aged 49 arrived to the English club on July 2016 and will continue for three years more. The Citizenz guaranteed the continuity of the trainer they were waiting for.

During the last weeks it was rumored that Guardiola was going to leave the club, as the coach usually trains teams for a short period of time. But against what it was said, he will finally stay. Manchester City are already making the plan for the next season and, with Guardiola at the head, they are already thinking they could also count on Lionel Messi.

The fact that the Catalan coach renewed make us think that there is a stronger chance now for the Argentinian legend to move to Manchester. The historical no. 10 plays for FC Barcelona since the age of 13 and is willing to leave after a dispute with ex-president Josep María Bartomeu.

Since the arrival from Guardiola, Manchester City won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, three EFL Cup and two English Supercup’s, after 245 games managed. If Messi joins them, it would be an historical transfer and the English club could pay up to $60 million for his transfer, as it was reported lately.
