Miguel Layún is the great winner of the Concachampions final without having played a single minute with America, thanks to the Concacaf regulations and his past with Rayados de Monterrey, a team he left in the summer and which by the end of the tournament is part of of registered players for this edition.

In this way, in the event that Monterrey wins the championship, Miguel Layún will be considered by Concacaf as part of the champion team and if America wins, he will celebrate with his current team anyway.Layún was registered as part of the Rayados squad and played in the Quarterfinal phase, in fact, he even scored a goal in his last game as a royal in the Concacaf tournament on May 5 against the Columbus Crew.

A month after that goal, Layún left Rayados and signed with América in the summer market, which does not take into account the Concachampions to make registration changes, so that a player cannot be registered in two teams during the same tournament.

Faced with this situation, if Rayados is crowned in the Concachampions, Layún is eligible to reinforce the team in the Club World Cup, but it would also be with America, since as it is another tournament, the teams can make modifications to the registered squad to the Concachampions, so that he could play with the Ame in said World Cup.
