In Spain, the last days are a crucial opportunity for the four leaders of the tournament to seek the La Liga title. Real Madrid, second overall, had the opportunity to beat Real Betis at home and match Atlético Madrid's score. However, with a great performance by Diego Lainez and Andrés Guardado, the Sevilla team managed to keep zero and shared the points at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.

To the surprise of Betis fans, and in contrast to the last four games, the Mexican players appeared in Manuel Pellegrini's starting lineup. The technical director gave them the confidence to participate in one of the most relevant matches of the season. They faced Real Madrid led by Zinedine Zidane, who used his stars Benzema, Isco, Modric, Carvajal and Courtois to beat the sixth best team.

From the beginning, the locals proposed a game in which they enjoyed possession of the ball and generated offensive plays. On the contrary, the Betis held on in their own court and, when they saw the opportunity to generate a counterattack, they took advantage of the speed of Joaquin, Lainez and even their lateral defense Emerson. For its part, the rear had a solid coverage and did not allow Karim Benzema to find space to move.

The former player of the Eagles of America had an active participation on the right wing. Thanks to his skills of speed and agility in handling the ball, he managed to unbalance the rivals. On a couple of occasions, he also caused fouls that led to set pieces, but his team failed to convert them into touchdowns.

At minute 36 of the match, visiting striker Borja Iglesias received a filtered ball in the three quarters of the court. Although he managed to overtake Éder Militao in speed, his poor control returned the ball to the central defender, so the dangerous play was diluted as soon as he entered the large area guarded by Thibaut Courtois.

Two minutes after the most dangerous play, until that moment, the French forward of the merengues received a high ball in front of the goal. He was able to lower his chest and accommodate him to shoot with the instep of his right foot, but the departure of goalkeeper Claudio Bravo was timely and prevented the locals from going to the front on the scoreboard before half time.

In the second half, the panorama evened out slightly. In fact, at 47', Lainez showed one of his best plays during the game. In a counterattack attempt on his wing, he drove the ball forward. At that moment, midfielder Casemiro calculated the trajectory of the ball and kicked it off the pitch. However, in a genius, the Tabasco cut towards the center and made a tunnel to the famous midfielder. However, the play did not prosper and he left the field.
