From being just another club, albeit traditional, to being in the main headlines in the world of sport and much more in just a few hours. Newcastle United FC is now the new sensation of English and world football, having been acquired by the royal family of Saudi Arabia. The Magpies, as they are nicknamed, are now the new toy of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the future King of Saudi Arabia, who bought it through an investment fund.
And as such a powerful club that will begin to be, Newcastle is already looking big in the transfer market and has set itself the goal of signing a heavyweight from FC Barcelona: Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian is an old desire of the black and white club, although now it will sound a lot for January 2022. What's more, at Barça they knew that Coutinho had been in contact with Arab representatives, but they came to nothing.
As is known, Coutinho has a great poster in England for his successful time at Liverpool, a club that closed the doors to a possible return. Barcelona wanted to place him on the market but the offers, on the one hand, were poor, and the player's salary, on the other, is very high. The Catalans are still more than open to selling it and would accept a flat of 50 million euros, which would not even remotely reach compared to the almost 145 million they paid.
