The reason why the FC Barcelona locker room would have lost respect for Lionel Messi

FC Barcelona achieved the qualification to the Champions League round of 16 after defeating Dyamo Kyiv 4-0 in Ukraine. Head coach Ronald Koeman decided that Lionel Messi was not needed for the match and left him out of the call-up to make him rest. The result was a concrete triumph as visitors.

After the game it was said that Messi had troubles with his companions during the last weeks and that was the reason to his bad performances, the negative results achieved by the team and his reluctant gestures. When he left the team, the victory was so good that those rumors appeared.

Lionel Messi is now defining what he is going to do in the future. His contract with Barcelona ends on June 2021 and there are many teams interested on signing him. After more than 20 years in the Catalan side he may be leaving and Manchester City seems to be the place where he will continue his career.

Koeman thought that Messi was needing to rest, after the trip that he made with Argentina national team to play the World Cup Qualifiers and the hard match against Atlético de Madrid. What the Dutch coach couldn’t think is that his team was going to achieve such a victory that make his leadership tremble.
