Chelsea lost out on getting Kounde from Sevilla at the beginning of the season, they are preparing for life after Thiago Silva and they may lose Antonio Rudiger come next summer, therefore there is need to find a solid replacement. After missing out on Kounde, De Ligt is now considered the best option.

Real Madrid on their part parted ways with their captain at the beginning of the season, Sergio Ramos left for Paris Saint Germain after contract fell out. The Los Blancos are looking for a replacement to fill in. They turn to Turin and are willing to bring their £67.5m to Madrid.

De Ligt who has been sharing time with 37 years old Giorgio Chiellini may not be the best option for the two teams considering his numbers. After joining Juventus from Ajax in 2019, the Dutch man has not been impressive. He has had 84 appearances for the club in over two years and has found the back of the six times for the Old Ladies with two assists.

The 22-years-old will come at a very huge price, Juventus placed a release clause of €150m on him but they are willing to let him go because they wanted to get his salary wages of €280k off their list. His numbers this season have not been encouraging, his defending is still intact but his ball playing abilities is poor with just 85% pass accuracy. He has played just five matches the Serie A, subbed in one. His average rating in the Serie A is 6.33 with an average of 46 passes per match and 85% completion.
