Cristiano Ronaldo continued an impressive run of form for Manchester United in the Matchday 5 fixture of the 2021 English Premier League season. Going up against London side, West Ham United, the Portuguese superstar scored the first-half equaliser after a Benrahma opener. Ronaldo came into the match on the back of scoring 3 goals in his first 3 matches for the Red Devils after completing a £15m transfer from Juventus on transfer deadline day.

Ronaldo's performance since rejoining Manchester United

5-time Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo completed a sensational return to Old Trafford after 12 goal-laden years at Real Madrid and Juventus. He rejoined Manchester United after scoring over 100 goals in just 3 seasons for the Bianconeri. On his second debut for United, Ronaldo scored a brace against Newcastle United to kick-start his second spell with a bang.

The Portuguese attacker then continued his fine goalscoring form in the UEFA Champions League, scoring the opener in the Matchday 1 fixture against Swiss Champions, Young Boys. Though United would go on to lose that game by 2-1, Ronaldo has been effective for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side so far. He netted his 4th goal of the season this past weekend in the 2-1 victory over West Ham United.

What records can Cristiano Ronaldo break this season with Manchester United?

Cristiano Ronaldo's career has been littered with so many goalscoring and appearance records since his senior club debut for Sporting Lisbon. The 36-year-old is just 12 goals away from hitting a landmark 800 career goals, with his current goal haul standing at 788. Ronaldo would also be aiming to score 14 more Premier League goals this season to reach a century (100) goals in the English Premier League.

Cristiano Ronaldo will get the chance to face Sunday's opponents, West Ham United, for the second time in 4 days when they welcome the Hammers to Old Trafford for the 3rd-round fixture of the Carabao Cup. On Saturday, Ronaldo would also be in contention to extend his goalscoring form as the Red Devils welcome Dean Smith's Aston Villa team.
