Argentina has always been a land in which a lot of top players were born. One of the most emblematic ones ever is Lionel Messi. The star left his country since very young, at the age of 13, but was always identified with his national team. Near to his retirement, some other talents, set to be his successors, are appearing.
One of those is Thiago Almada, a youngster aged 19 that plays for Vélez Sársfield. The kid was born in Villa Fiorito, the same place as Diego Maradona, and is one of the greatest players of the local league. It has always been said that top European teams tried to sign him, but now it seems to be true.
International press reported that Almada is in the radar of Manchester United. The Red Devils have a clear strategic by which they are signing young players, to try to be once again one of the best sides in the world in the future. The offensive midfielder is set to be one, and that is the reason why the put an eye on him.
Almada has a contract with Vélez until 2023 and, according to specialized website Transfermarkt, he has a reported value of $20 million. After signing young talents as Donny Van de Been and Facundo Pellistri, the Red Devils are going for the new Messi.
