As it happens almost every year, a Brazilian top talented player appears. In the start of the 2021 it is Gabriel Veron, a winger born in Assu that plays for Palmeiras, is just 18 years old and from whom everyone is talking about. The local press compares him to Neymar, due to his capacity to dribble and his similar skills.

Veron has caught the interest of some of the best clubs in the world, and it is now rumored in Europe that both Pep Guardiola and Ronald Koeman put an eye on him. Guardiola wants him at Manchester City, knowing that his club could pay for his transfer. Koeman wants him at FC Barcelona, even though the financial situation of the Catalan side complicates signings.

Palmeiras decided to shield their star after knowing about the interest of other clubs. That is the reason why they signed him a contract until 2025, with a release clause of $60 million, which seems high after the crisis that was generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to specialized website Transfermarket, the value of the attacker nowadays is of $25 million. Veron played 35 matches for Palmeiras, entering a lot from the bench, scoring 11 goals and giving 5 assists. This weekend he will have the chance to win the Copa Libertadores title, when his team faces Santos FC.
