French midfielder Paul Pogba is one of football's biggest and most controversial stars. Super-talented, confident and socially savvy are some of the words that describe the 28-year-old World Cup winner. Despite starting as a deep-lying midfielder in the mould of Andrea Pirlo, Pogba has gradually moved further forward the pitch. He now plays as a box-to-box midfielder, often playing as one of two No 8s' or even drifting out to the left-wing and cutting in on his favourite right foot. More goal and assist contributions over the years have followed his interested attacking intent.

For his output on the pitch, his visibility on social media, and the never-ending buzz around his potentials, Manchester United pay handsome money to their former academy star. Paul Pogba sits 5th on the list of highest-earning players at Manchester United with a weekly pay of £290,000 (£15m annually). This is incredible pay by all means but could even get better.

Manchester United has reportedly tabled a 5-year contract extension deal to Paul Pogba that would see him earn a significant improvement on his current pay. The new contract is said to have a weekly salary of £400,000 (£21m). This would automatically make the ex-Juventus player the second best-paid player at Old Trafford, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo (£510,000). The deal is also expected to fend off approaches from Paris Saint-German who has been keen on taking the player back to his home country and home city.
