Andres Iniesta was already a soccer legend when, on July 2018, decided to leave FC Barcelona for the very first time in his professional career. Even though many fans thought that he could continue playing at a good level, he prioritized other things and decided to leave to Vissel Kobe at Japan.

After a very criticized decision, it was known that the Spanish midfielder had signed a multi-millionaire contract and that was going to earn almost three times more that what he gained at the Catalan side. After all, it was just a matter of money, as he wanted to make himself even richer than what he already was after 20 years at Barcelona.

Despite he achieved to earn a lot of money, some businesses didn’t go good for Iniesta at Japan. Vissel Kobe agreed to buy to the playmaker many wines from his cellar when he was hired, but during the last two years the sales from his winery didn’t reach the $3 million, neither on 2018 and 2019.

It is yet unknown what happened with the money that the club promised to him for wines, but it is rumored that it will be paid later. At 36 years, Iniesta is very near his retirement, playing in a non-competitive league and with a contract remaining until January 2021 it isn’t crazy to think that he will finally say goodbye at the start of next year.
