The eccentricities Mbappé demands to stay at PSG

Kylian Mbappé is currently the player with the highest market value in the world. He is the best player in PSG squad along Neymar. So his club is desperately trying to renew his contract, to expire in 2022. The French international currently earns more than 18 million euro a year, but this time that number will be not enough to convince him.

At this point it is known the interest Real Madrid posed on him, and Mbappé will surely use that interest as leverage to negotiate with PSG for a contract extension. Probably the money would not be a problem by the team owned by Qatari investments, able to afford almost everybody’s fee. Mbappé is going to test that asking for 30 million euro a year.

But the other thing the 21-years-old wants to renew is a guarantee of something else. He wants a serious soccer project. He is not done with winning Ligue 1 every year, he wants the club to have a spine to always reach UEFA Champions League final stages, like happened last season where they were beaten by Bayern Munich and Mbappé played badly.

So, the cards are on the table. If PSG wants to keep the young star, they will have to spend many millions for his wages and for bringing in new players. If that does not happen, he will pack his stuff and leave to Spain to play for Real Madrid, knowing Florentino Pérez is more than able to meet his demands.
