Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos has dropped a hint concerning the transfer of PSG forward, Kylian Mbappe, to Real Madrid. Kroos commented that transfer happenings at rivals, Barcelona could open the way for Madrid to acquire a dream signing this summer. Whilst stating it tacitly, this is good news for the Los Blancos faithful ahead of the end of the transfer window.
13-time UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid is rumoured to be preparing a bid worth over £120m for French international, Mbappe. They have identified the 21-year-old as their primary target for this season in a bid to bolster their fledgling squad. The Los Blancos finished second to City rivals, Atletico, on the La Liga log last season but many believe that that was more as a result of the inconsistency of other challengers rather than Madrid's brilliance. The Liga club's attack was particularly weak with only Benzema showing consistency and output.
Kroos revealed that the players and management at Madrid with the departure of Lionel Messi from Barcelona. The German noted that Messi's move to PSG has weakened one of their main rivals and might also contribute to strengthening the Madrid squad. Kroos commented that if Messi's arrival means Mbappe is now unsettled at the club due to sporting and wage bill issues, then it would certainly not be a disadvantage to Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe has so far refused all advances from PSG to renew his current contract which expires by July 2022. The latest deal offered by the French club was a 6-year extension deal with a yearly salary of €36m. This would put him on the same salary as Lionel Messi and Neymar. However, the World Cup winner seems to be bent on a deal to Real Madrid, with the promise of being the latest Galactico signing and the centre of the footballing project at the Bernabeu.
