The Argentinian joined this Saturday the Portuguese and the Swedish in a negative streak.

FC Barcelona played against Valencia at Nou Camp this Saturday, in a match for LaLiga with a lot of impact. During the game, Lionel Messi achieved to score his goal number 643 with Barça, reaching the record of goal scored for a single club that Pele had playing for Santos until now.

But the match wasn’t perfect for the Catalan side, that suffered a tie in their own home that complicates their situation on the local competition. Messi was also involved in a negative streak that this year has already damage some very important players: he failed a penalty.

The Argentinian couldn’t score and joined top players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marco Reus, Kevin De Bruyne, Jamie Vardy, Antoine Griezmann, Joao Felix, Bruno Fernandes and Jorginho, all of those who also failed to score penalties during this season.

Messi is facing a very uncertain moment of his professional career. He is not performing as well as he was during the past seasons and is seriously thinking on leaving Barcelona. He intended to do such a thing during the past transfer window, but ex-president Josep María Bartomeu denied him that chance. With his contract ending on June 2021, there are now several chances for him to depart.
