With the passage of time, many internationally renowned figures came to Mexico with the idea of wasting talent in the last years of their careers. And while some cases were successful, there were others that, for various reasons, fell short. Players like Ronaldinho, Landon Donovan, Bebeto, or Faustino Asprilla are some of the examples who did not want or could not make their way into the Aztec championship.

Ronaldinho

The Brazilian star arrived in Querétaro with the promise of taking the team to the top of Liga MX. He arrived as a reinforcement for the Apertura 2014 and remained during that tournament and the Clausura 2015, playing 2,22 minutes spread over 30 games, achieving eight goals and seven passes to goal. Los Gallos will be installed in their first League Final, which they lost to Santos.

Bebeto

Faustino Asprilla

One of the best Colombian forwards of all seasons. He broke it in Parma and then went through the Premier League, where he defended the Newcastle colors. In 2001 he arrived as one of the great reinforcements of Atlante; However, he played 12 games with the Colts before returning to Atlético Nacional.

Roque Santa Cruz

In all the clubs where he was, he is remembered for how easy it is to send the ball to the back of the nets. Less in Cruz Azul, where the historical goalscorer of the Paraguay National Team could not leave his nuola Santa Cruz played 10 games in the Clausura 2015 with the Machine, which in that tournament was one step away from accessing the Liguilla.

Landon Donovan

Leon announced with balls and plastlos the legacy of Landon Donovan, who gave up his retirement to try his luck in Liga MX. However, the American only entered the exchange to play the last minutes of the Fiera matches in the Clausura 2018 and the club did not make effective the renewal of his contract at the end of the season.
