Manchester City have already chosen their three captains for this season. Since Pep Guardiola arrived, the English team has chosen their captains by means of an internal vote in which the entire squad has participated and, since this season, the entire coaching staff that works with them day after day.

The Brazilian Fernandinho repeats as the first captain, who already was last season after the departure of David Silva, and Vincent Kompany the previous year. The 36-year-old midfielder is a highly respected figure in the dressing room, although he alternates ownership with substitution due to the arrival of Rodrigo and the obvious passing of the years. Fernandinho ends his contract this next summer.

The novelty, however, has come in the second and third position. And everything was revealed this past Wednesday in the Champions League match, when both Kevin De Bruyne and Ruben Dias were starters against RB Leipzig and it was the Portuguese defender who wore the citizens bracelet.

Manchester City: How will the captaincy look then?

In this way, the hierarchy is arranged as follows. Ilkay Gündogan will wear the bracelet on all those occasions in which Fernandinho does not play, which will be many throughout the season. The German has a very important role in the daily life of the 'citizens' and this has been demonstrated in the vote.

Kevin De Bruyne: How many games does he played in Manchester City?

Kevin De Bruyne came to Manchester City in 2015, and has played for the Premier League team continuously to this day. In the citizens, he played 265 national and international matches, in which he scored 67 goals.
