The departure of Luis Suárez from FC Barcelona was a very polemic one. The Uruguayan striker had to leave after receiving the notice that he was not longer considered, despite his wish of staying. The decision of ex-president Josep María Bartomeu, backed up by head coach Ronald Koeman, to axe one of the all-time to scorers of Barça, brought many polemics.

Suárez decided to take his own revenge and since the arrival to Atlético Madrid he scored 12 goals in 15 LaLiga games. His team leads the local competition, and he is one of the maximum top-scorers. The message that Suárez sends to his ex-team is visible on the field every time he plays.

Diego Simeone talked this Saturday, in the previous hours of a new game of his team against Cádiz, and said that he was impressed about the effort that Suárez put since his arrival. According to the Argentinian, the attacker still wants to remain active, and he got the hierarchy to do so. He also valuated the effort of the team and how they help him to be one of the best of the team.

Suárez was very near to move to Juventus when he was axed from Barcelona, but he finally ended in a direct rival of the Catalan side. Now he has a contract signed until June 2022 and, at his 34 years old, there are no hints about his retirement in the near future. The gift that Barça gave to Atlético and now is giving them nightmares.
