The future of Sergio Ramos is completely uncertain, as the contract that the historical defender has with Real Madrid will be ending on June 2021. The captain of the Galacticos arrived to the Spanish side on August 2005, when he left Sevilla FC for $30 million, and could depart after more than 15 years.
One of the options that he has will be renewing his contract, even though the new offer that Florentino Pérez could make him won’t be as good as the one that he actually has, as local press reported. The fact of being 34 years old, plus the financial crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, could make him earn less money.
One of the places to where Ramos could move if he leaves Real Madrid is the MLS. The U.S. league has always appeared in the radar of the top star, as he always said that it could be a good option for him before retirement. Due to his good relationship with David Beckham, moving to Inter Miami is a clear option. After the win of his team in the Champions League, he posted a picture on the locker room, on a wink about his present and future in Spain.
Beckham has convinced stars as Gonzalo Higuaín or Blaise Matuidi to move to the club where he is both president and owner. If Ramos decides not to move to U.S. the other options could be at Europe for him. Paris Saint-Germain is a club that tempts him and where he could also move.
