One of the world’s most desired free agents in 2021, without any doubt, is Sergio Ramos. The 34-year-old center back is about to end is deal with Real Madrid on June 30, and he is already receiving offers from many clubs to join.

Ramos has arrived to Real Madrid by August 2005 for €27 million ($32.7 million) as one of the most expensive defenders in history by that moment. Nowadays Virgil Van Dijk was acquired in almost three times that figure. Since his arrival, Ramos has become an emblem of Real Madrid, but now, he could move to a new destination and start all over again.

Recently, he had been in talks with Real Madrid to extend his contract. His salary was estimated in around €12 million per year ($16.44 million). The conflict in the negotiation was that he wanted a 2 year contract with the same income, and the club just offers him to choose between that extension with a 10% pay cut, or his desired salary for just one more year.

After not agreeing terms with the club, Ramos has allegedly reached a deal with English Premier League giants Manchester United. As reported by English newspaper The Mirror, René Ramos, Sergio’s brother and agent, is closing a deal for over $14.2 million per year, although the league uses to express salaries per week.

Should he shake hands to move to Manchester, Ramos will take with him over 178 international caps (he’s on the run to be the first male soccer player ever to reach 200) and five La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, a World Cup and two European Championships.
