Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid could not agree on the renewal of the contract. While the footballer asks for at least two more years of bond and a salary increase, the Merengue directive offers him only one season and lower 10% of the tab. The parties do not give in a millimeter in the negotiations, however, the next few weeks could bring news after Real Madrid captain and Florentino Pérez set a new date to sit down and talk.

According to the Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, Sergio Ramos and the president of Real Madrid will meet before Easter. By that time, the former Sevilla player will have made a decision regarding the offer made to him by the sports management. The ball is in the court of the defender. “The situation is not exactly good between the two parties in question and the idea is to meet before Easter to see if a solution is reached. When he wants to put himself on the market, he will have no problem. He will only hear offers if the negotiations break down", assured Inda during his participation in‘ El Chiringuito ’.

At Real Madrid they want to know Ramos' decision as soon as possible to plan the summer transfer market. If the Spanish center-back opts not to continue, the Whites will have to find a new center-back. Among the options are David Alaba and Pau Torres, although there has not yet been a real rapprochement with either player.

According to information provided by the newspaper ‘AS’, the Madrid captain has set the return date of March 13, when Zinedine Zidane’s team will receive Elche for LaLiga Santander at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium. The intention of the central is to have minutes in said meeting to start from the beginning only three days later, on March 16, on the occasion of the Atalanta visit. Ramos underwent surgery on February 6, having touched the internal meniscus of his left knee. At the moment he is recovering in the Valdebebas gym, as evidenced by the photos and videos he publishes on his social networks, in which he reflects that the pain in the operated area has disappeared.
